![]() ![]() ![]() Ensure risk and contingency awareness and training for relevant employees, project managers and project team members.Conduct strategic, risk and contingency planning analysis as well as ensure longer term forecast of the IT demand. ![]() Manage IT demand of IT services as it relates to change and its impact on operations, which includes forecasting, planning, prioritization, allocation and spending of all projects by documenting, sizing, prioritizing and approving prior to assigning resources and starting any projects as well as ensure the portfolio of changes are balanced.Manage the funding and resources allocation and spending of all projects, by ensuring all projects have funding estimates, by properly planning and monitoring costs associated with the hardware, software, licenses, and external staffing resources, both temporary and consulting services and by participating in the development of operating and capital budgets.Ensure the organization delivers on the IT/IM strategic plan as approved by the governance forums.Manage the short and long term roadmap for the PMO including how it relates to other organizations and the governance forums within IDRC.Apply new standards to the Portfolio Management Framework as they are developed.Review existing processes and develop new ones.Develop a Portfolio Management Framework which includes project management methodologies, tools, project team organization structures, identification of risks, decision making responsibilities, etc.Primary Duties and/or Responsibilities Portfolio IT/IM Project ManagementÄevelop and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) in support of the IT governance forums and also IMTD management. The role focuses on project consistency, predictability, and overall project efficiency. The Chief, Project Management Office ensures the key business changes are planned and delivered on time, within scope and within budget as agreed with the IT governance forums. The Chief, Project Management Office works with the IT governance forums to help identify the business priorities for changes and balance those priorities across the organization within the capacity of IMTD resources to deliver, or engage external resources to support those projects as required. This role is accountable to enable continuous communication, continuous improvement, and ensures that any project risks are identified early and mitigated. The Chief has responsibility to manage all projects that flow through the PMO and ensures that project scope, plans and timelines, budgets, and project resources are allocated effectively. As a member of the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) management team, the Chief, Project Management Office oversees the development and implementation of the Portfolio Project Management Framework process, which includes demand management, resource management and project delivery. ![]()
